'Give This Woman Her Life Back': Madonna Pleads To Free Britney Spears From Conservatorship, Says 'This Is A Violation Of Human Rights'
The Queen of Pop has spoken.
Madonna held nothing back as she joined the slew of celebrities who are speaking out in defense of Britney Spears amid her controversial conservatorship.
On Thursday, July 8, Madonna took to her Instagram Story to post a message in defense of the “Toxic” singer.
“Give this woman her life back,” she wrote in the text over a photo of herself wearing a “Britney Spears” T-shirt.
She even likened Spears’ conservatorship to slavery, writing, “Slavery was abolished so long ago!”
“Death to the greedy patriarchy that has been doing this to women for centuries,” she continued in the post. “This is a violation of human rights! Britney we coming to get you out of jail!"
It’s no surprise that Madonna would come to Spears’ defense, as their relationship goes back quite a bit. The two gal pals teamed up in the early 2000s with their song together, “Me Against The Music.” They also performed together at the 2003 MTV Awards with Christina Aguilera.

Spears recently broke her silence about her 13-year conservatorship on June 23, where she addressed the court in a heartbreaking testimony, alleging the abusive nature of her situation.
Madonna isn’t the first celebrity to speak out in the Princess of Pop’s defense. Most recently Elon Musk took to Twitter to write “Free Britney” in a post.
Miley Cyrus also proved to have Spears’ back at a recent Fourth of July concert, where she ignited a “Free Britney” chant in the middle of performing her hit “Party In The USA.”
Other names who have also used their voice to defend the pop singer include her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey, Halsey, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and more.
Spears’ conservatorship team has been making moves in light of recent progressions with the “Free Britney” movement, as her lawyer Samuel Ingham resigned as her counsel earlier this week, and her longtime manager, Larry Rudolph, also resigned on Monday.
