Matthew Perry Appears Disheveled In Rare Appearance Since Sparking Health Concerns After Controversial 'Friends' Reunion
Matthew Perry was snapped on a rare outing in Los Angeles.
The Friends alum was spotted grabbing some coffee at a local Starbucks in Los Feliz, Calif. Over the weekend. The 52-year-old actor looked a little disheveled in an oversized tee, white basketball shorts and Nike sneaks.
In photos obtained by Page Six, the Fools Rush In star walked with determination to his vehicle with a Frappuccino in hand. Once inside a pal’s car, the actor took a drag off of a cigarette.
This marks one of the first times Perry has been seen in public since sparking health concerns after appearing in the highly anticipated Friends: The Reunion special.
Fans of the beloved actor were shocked to see him slurring his words and with a visibly blank look on his face during the HBO Max spectacle. Since Perry has a sordid history with addiction struggles, fans were concerned he might have relapsed.
Following the reunion controversy, a source close to the comedian tried their best to clear up the rumors, claiming he had recently undergone an emergency dental procedure. “Matthew turned up to the reunion [in April] and members of his team said that he had an emergency tooth procedure that day,” a source spilled, adding: “That was said to impact his wellbeing and also how he was feeling.”

OK! reported the 17 Again star was allegedly in pain while filming, which caused the slurred speech. "Obviously no one wants to film after a procedure, but it happened," the insider added. "The feeling was one of huge sympathy for Matthew especially in recent days given how people have reacted online."
Adding to his woes, Perry called off his engagement to Molly Hurwitz in June. “Sometimes things just don't work out and this is one of them,” he said in a statement at the time. “I wish Molly the best.”
Perry and the literary manager were first linked in 2018 before he popped the question in November 2020.
Following the Friends reunion debacle and his split, a source exclusively spilled to OK! Perry “is eager to pull himself together and turn his life around,” noting he’s “determined to get back on track physically and mentally.”
