Fashion's Biggest Night! The Best Looks From Met Gala 2021: Billie Eilish, Gabrielle Union, Jennifer Lopez & More
After being postponed last year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, fashion's biggest night has arrived!
The Metropolitan Museum of Art and fashion magazine Vogue's annual Met Gala — held on Monday, September 13 — is a more "intimate affair" this year. Even organizers are sternly enforcing COVID-19 protocols, so expect to see a lot of your favorite celebs matching their face mask to their stunning outfits.
This year's theme is centered around American fashion and a celebration of iconic American designers, such as Vera Wang, Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenberg and more.
Although the Kardashian-Jenners are known for their eye-dropping Met Gala looks in the past, Kylie Jenner announced she will not be attending this year's soirée. "I'm so sad I couldn't make it this year 🤍🤍 I can't wait to see all the looks 🤍🤍," Jenner wrote via her Instagram story on Monday.
Rapper Nicki Minaj revealed moments before the show was set to start she will not be attending due to vaccination requirements. "They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. if I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research," she tweeted on Monday. "I’m working on that now. In the meantime my loves, be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one."
Timothee Chalamet, Billie Eilish, poet Amanda Gorman and tennis phenom Naomi Osaka are cochairs for the big event. Tom Ford, Instagram's Adam Mosseri and fashion maven Anna Wintour are honorary chairs.
