COUPLESNicolas Cage Gets Married For The Fifth Time In A 'Very Small And Intimate' Las Vegas Wedding
Fifth times the charm? Nicolas Cage tied the knot with girlfriend Riko Shibata last month, making her his fifth wife.
The National Treasure actor and the 26-year-old reportedly said "I do" in Las Vegas on February 16.
"It's true, and we are very happy," the 57-year-old told PEOPLE.
The ceremony was a "very small and intimate wedding at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas," a representative told the outlet, and was held on the date "to honor the birthday of the groom's late father."
The blushing bride wore a stunning handmade Japanese Bridal Kimono from her hometown of Kyoto in Japan while Cage donned a Tom Ford tuxedo. Shibata walked down the isle to "Winter Song" by Kiroro, which is said to be her favorite song.
Shibata is said to have taken Cage’s last name.
The newlyweds then celebrated with a small group including Cage’s ex-wife Alice Kim and their 15-year-old son, Kal-El.
The couple reportedly met in Shiga, Japan over a year ago and were first photographed together in February 2020.
According to the Daily Mail, Cage and Shibata applied for their wedding license on January 10, which is Shibata’s birthday.
Cage revealed that they were engaged in August when he appeared on his brother Marc Coppola's radio show and said that he bought his new-bride a black engagement ring because "her favorite color is black so she wanted the black gold, and the black diamond."

"I customized and personalized it and I actually sent it to her FedEx."
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the pair had an unconventional engagement.
"She left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan, and I went back to Nevada and I haven't seen her for 6 months," he explained.
"We're really happy together and we're really excited to spend that time together so I finally just said 'Look, I wanna marry you' and we got engaged on FaceTime."
This is Cage’s fifth time getting married. He was previously married to Erika Kookie in 2019 but called it quits within four days and was granted a divorce after two months. He reportedly claimed in court documents that he "lacked understanding of his actions in marrying [Koike] to the extent that he was incapable of agreeing to the marriage."
Before that, he was with Kim from 2004 until 2016, and Lisa Marie Presley from 2002 to 2004. His first wife was Patricia Arquette who he was married to from 1995 until 2001.

This is Shibata’s first marriage.
Cage also shares a 30-year-old son, Weston, with ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton.
