Pregnant Olivia Munn Explains Why She Won’t 'Feed Into' Gossip About Her Relationship With John Mulaney
Pregnant Olivia Munn isn’t giving haters the time of day.
The 41-year-old actress — who is currently expecting her first child with John Mulaney, 39 — recently explained how she deals with the rumors surrounding her relationship.
The pair was first reported to be dating earlier this year following the former Saturday Night Live writer’s split from his wife Anna Marie Tendler. The timeline of their whirlwind romance has since been called into question after critics speculated he was already seeing the Violet actress while still married to his estranged wife.
Meanwhile, Munn doesn't care about the public's speculation regarding their timeline, as she recently told the Los Angeles Times how she's blocking out the haters and ignoring the gossip about their relationship.
“It’s definitely not foreign for me to have people speculate incorrectly about things and to have rumors run rampant in one way,” she candidly told the outlet.
“They think they know our relationship so well,” she reportedly continued. “When in reality, they don’t. There’s no way anyone could know what any of his relationships were or what our relationship is.”
She went on to explain that she has chosen not to address the rumors — which have been mounting since news of her pregnancy broke back in September — in order to not “feed into a narrative that’s just not true.”

“If I try to say anything, I run the risk of being called messy or not telling the truth,” she said. “The only way to win, for me, is to pull back and to not play the game at all.”
The mom-to-be also addressed Mulaney’s stand-up routine, which included a joke about the public’s reaction to his baby news — quipping that he gets “mixed reviews” when he tells people he is going to be a dad.
“He’s so funny and he’s so articulate, and he’s so smart,” Munn gushed of Mulaney. “The first time he made that joke, I remember laughing. I’d be with him on the road, and I would hear him tell this joke, and I did feel a sense of healing with it.”
While the X-Men actress has previously expressed her excitement over her upcoming bundle of joy, she admitted the gossip surrounding her pregnancy has been difficult to deal with.
“It’s hard to be pregnant for the first time and have anybody say anything besides like, ‘Congratulations,’” she pointed out.
As OK! previously reported, Mulaney has been trying to speed up the process of ending his marriage to Tendler, whom he was married to for seven years.
“John wants to speed things up and get the divorce done,” a source explained. “He’s becoming a father, so he switched to a new law firm with a reputation of being tough and efficient.”
