The Duke of York was slapped with a lawsuit earlier this year by one of Jeffrey Epstein’s accusers, claiming he sexually abused her as a minor.
Virginia Roberts Giuffre filed a suit in Manhattan federal court on Monday, August 9. In court documents obtained by OK! she claims Andrew sexually abused her in New York City when she was a minor. She previously claimed that she was forced to have sex with the Queen’s son on three different occasions in London, New York and on Epstein’s private island in the Caribbean.
The 61-year-old, who formally stepped down from royal duties after the scandal made headlines, has denied the allegations, but that isn’t stopping the monarchy from shunning him during the Jubilee event.
A source spilled to The Sun, “The plan is for him [Andrew] to be invisible during celebrations” as to not draw attention away from the festivities.
The disgraced royal will not appear with Her Majesty and other senior royals on the palace balcony for the Royal Air Force (RAF) fly-past. The four-day Platinum Jubilee celebrations will run from Thursday, June 2, 2022 to Sunday, June 5, 2022.
Royal expert Nigel Cawthorne spilled the decision to hide Andrew “is very sensible otherwise the attention would all be on Andrew,” noting It’s “an embarrassing situation for the Queen.”
Harry and the former Suits actress haven’t made a joint appearance back in the U.K. since their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey — where the duo exposed what life was really like behind palace walls.
