Steve Irwin's legacy lives on!
Bindi posted a photo of herself and her father by the ocean on Instagram. "Your legacy will live on forever. I love you for even longer," the 23-year-old captioned the post. "November 15, Steve Irwin Day."
Robert posted a photo of him and his sister sitting in a tree with their father on Instagram. "Today is #SteveIrwinDay. Thinking a lot about my Dad today and the impact that he made on our planet, inspiring an entire generation," the 17-year-old wrote.
"I also think about what a truly amazing dad he was. Through a lifetime captured on camera and stories from my family and those who knew him best, I’m able to remember the special times with dad," Robert continued. "I still look up to him every day and while I miss him so much, it means the world to me and my family that each year we can have a day for the world to celebrate what he stood for❤️."
According to SteveIrwinDay.org, the occasion is an "annual international event honouring the life and legacy of the one and only Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin!"
Steve passed away at the age off 44 in September 2006. The TV personality lost his life while working on Ocean's Deadliest after he was attacked by a stingray.
Bindi welcomed her daughter, Grace Warrior, earlier this year with her husband, Chandler Powell.
Powell paid homage to his late father-in-law. He shared a photo of the zookeeper holding a snake on Instagram.
"Happy #SteveIrwinDay 2021," the father-of-one wrote. "What I admire most about Steve is his love for all living things. His enthusiasm for how beautiful our world is will always be something we should take inspiration from. Put on your khakis & take a minute to remember the greatest Wildlife Warrior."
