Sean Penn's Temper To Blame For Split From Wife Leila George After 15 Months: 'He's Too Much Of A Hothead,' Source Spills
Over already!
After just 15 months of marriage, Sean Penn and Leila George are calling it quits — and a source says friends are laying the blame on the actor’s domineering ways.
“It’s the same old story for Sean. He’s just way too intense,” states the source.
George, 29, who tied the knot with the Flag Day star, 61, in a “Covid wedding” after four years of dating, “thought she could handle Sean’s high-handed personality. But it became a nightmare once they were husband and wife,” spills the source.
“He just can’t take anyone standing up to him, and his mood can turn on a dime if you do,” continues the insider.
Penn — who’s dad to daughter Dylan, 30, and son Hopper, 28 — also clashed with the actress “because he doesn’t want more kids, which was a sticking point for her,” the source adds.

Penn, who looked downcast when he was spotted sans wedding ring in L.A. on October 16, “needs to get a grip,” scoffs the source. “He’s too much of a hothead for any woman to take,” concludes the insider.
The Milk actor and George were first romantically linked in 2016. The duo split and got back together before tying the knot in July 2020. The Australian actress filed for divorce earlier this month.
The Oscar winner has had a string of high-profile marriages. He was married to actress Robin Wright from 1996-2010 and Queen of Pop Madonna from 1985-1989.
A source spilled to OK! Penn’s relationship with the Material Girl could be featured in her upcoming biopic. The 63-year-old is gearing up to direct a movie — which she’s co-writing with Diablo Cody — based on her storied life, including her romances with Warren Beatty, ex-hubbies Penn and Guy Ritchie as well as baby daddy Carlos Leon, who are all reportedly unnerved by the prospect.
“She’s getting a savage pleasure knowing her famous exes are nervous,” an insider dished, adding that Madonna even plans to expose which beaus were the best — and worst! — in bed.
