Sister Wives' Meri Brown Shares Cryptic Message About Ending 'Toxic' Relationships Amid Troubled Marriage To Kody
Meri Brown is done apologizing.
On Tuesday, August 24, the Sister Wives star took to her Instagram Story to share inspiring, yet, cryptic posts.
Brown told her 553K followers to never say sorry for "ending a relationship that is toxic or doesn't make you happy," or for the person "you were in the past and the mistakes you've already apologized for."
The reality star didn't draw a connection between the message and her personal life — but her statements could be interpreted as pointing to her dwindling relationship with polygamist partner Kody Brown.
Meri and Kody wed in 1990, but their relationship began to crumble in the months leading up to 2015, when their romance was shattered by the 50-year-old's emotional affair. As OK! reported, Meri famously got caught up in a catfishing scandal after sparking an emotional relationship with someone who she believed to be a man, but was actually a woman.

The reality stars' relationship has never been the same since, as Kody once admitted: "Meri and I sort of saw our marriage just dissolve" after the scandal. However, Kody confessed they were having major problems before the catfishing controversy, explaining the year before the incident was just "flippin' ugly."
Despite the apparent end of their relationship — with Kody revealing on a Sister Wives episode that there's no "romantic inclinations within our marriage" — Meri previously confessed she still carried a torch for her estranged partner.
In April, the two celebrated their 30th anniversary by exchanging awkward words about their relationship. After the father-of-18 speculated, "I think we miss the idea of us. We don’t miss each other,” Meri responded: "Speak for yourself."
Meri confessed that she still cared for Kody, but won't act on it because she knows how he feels. "I can’t make you care for me. I can’t change that," she somberly said. After the two tried to put the blame on the other for not showing enough attention and interest in their relationship, Meri said she wanted to kiss her man — who she shares with sister wives Robyn, Christine and Janelle.
However, Kody made it clear that he was not interested, leaving the mother-of-one to feel rejected and alone. “Romance and sex are saved in my world for people who are in love," he said of the incident in an interview.
