Baby on the way!
The 42-year-old daytime TV host teased the big announcement via her Instagram Story, showing the outfit she was going to wear on the season premiere of The Real as she broke the news.
“Most important outfit I have ever worn after 8 seasons of @therealdaytime,” she captioned a snap of the adorable maternity jumpsuit on Monday. “Why am I so emo?????” she added.
“I can definitely say that our Real fam is growing, and it’s been really hard to keep all of these secrets from you guys because we’ve had so much to reveal here at the show, including the fact that I am pregnant,” the mom-to-be said.
In an interview with Women’s Health, the TV personality said, “Jeezy and I have been kind of saving this and hiding this for five months," she dished, noting her costars Adrienne Houghton, Loni Love and Garcelle Beauvais had no idea she was pregnant. “So, we’re relieved to finally share the news.”
The exciting news comes after the stylist suffered a miscarriage ealier this year. “I wondered if I was being punished. I wondered if I’d jinxed myself or cursed myself,” she continued. “My entire life, I never wanted children. When I say never, I’m talking a hard-stop never.”
Yet, her relationship with the rapper changed her perspective on the future. “Falling in love with Jeezy made me see life differently for myself. Our love is honest, pure, and safe… something I hadn’t felt as a child.”
Jeezy has two kids from a previous relationship. “Being a mom is hands down the hardest role in the entire world,” the stepmom added. “Now that we’re bringing another Jenkins into the picture. I have no idea what to expect.”
Watching the “Put On” crooner parent his kids has been heartwarming for the former How Do I Look? host. “He’s an amazing dad,” Mai Jenkins said, and it “overwhelms me with even more love.”
