The rumors that Karoline Leavitt could appear on The View are true — though it would only be as a guest for one episode, not as a co-host.
After the mom-of-two's last day as Donald Trump's press secretary on Thursday, August 27, a report claimed she was in "secret talks" to join the cast as a permanent costar. However, CNN clarified the offer is just for one episode of the ABC series.
When Does the New Season Premiere?
'The View' invited former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt to be on the show.
That same day, the popular program announced it would kick off Season 30 on Tuesday, September 8, with all six co-hosts returning: Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin.
In a promo clip for the milestone season, Behar quipped, "30 years on The View, really? I feel like I’ve been here since my prom!"
The clip also teased, "And if you think you know who will be here for our season premiere week, you’re about to be surprised."
'The View Vs the FCC
Karoline Leavitt is focusing on motherhood, with August 27 marking her last day in the White House.
The View is currently under investigation by the FCC to see if they violated the equal air time rule, which mandates that bonafide news programs must platform all political parties.
Disney hit back and stated that the series — which features mostly liberal co-hosts — was given a "bona fide news exemption" more than two decades ago.
"Our position on this is clear. We’re very principled on this. We’re going to stand up to what we believe is journalistic integrity. And we’re not going to be told how to run that side of our business," Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro stated in a recent interview. "Our filings, I think, speak for that. I like what we do. We tell incredible stories. I think we do it well. We do it around the world. And we’re going to stay committed to that."

J.D. Vance appeared on 'The View' in June.
The show has welcomed more Republican guests over the past year or so, with even Vice President J.D. Vance appearing in June.
Leavitt has yet to publicly accept or turn down the invite.
The ex-White House staffer first announced she was stepping down from her White House role on August 12, explaining she wanted to spend more time with her two young children.
Why Did Karoline Leavitt Quit?
Karoline Leavitt said stepping down from her job 'was one of the most difficult decisions I've ever had to make.'
In an interview with NewsNation’s Morning in America, Leavitt said every day as a working mother "is a challenge."
"You have to make sacrifices. You have to prioritize your time. And you have to say no to a lot of opportunities that come your way because you want to be there for bedtime with your kids every night," she spilled of why she gave up the job, noting kids deserve "their mother's 24/7 constant attention and presence."
"It was one of the most difficult decisions I've ever had to make, but you know, God just convicted my heart that it's the right thing to do for me and my family at this time," Leavitt admitted. "I think I've served the president the best I can and he deserves the press secretary who can be here on the clock, literally 24/7. That's what the job requires."
