Another social media sensation gone too soon. TikTok star Rochelle Hager died Monday, March 29, following a freak accident while driving.
The 31-year-old was reportedly driving her 2015 Nissan Rogue in Farmington, Maine, when winds were gusting at more than 50 MPH. Farmington Police Chief Kenneth Charles told the Press Herald that the windstorm knocked down a pine tree limb, which then fell onto the roof of her car.
"There was nothing she could do to avoid it," he told the local outlet.
According to authorities, who called the incident "tragic and unique," Hager was likely killed instantly. No one else was hurt in the incident.
In recent months, Hager, who lived in Waterville, Maine, had developed a loyal following on TikTok under the username @roeurboat3, amassing more than 1.2 million likes and 123,000 followers.
“I lost the love of my life today. Thank you for being my everything and thank you, everyone, for your support. Rest easy my love,” she wrote as the video's caption. “Thank you for showing me what true love is. I love you forever.”
In another TikTok, Lynn added, “Who knew forever would end so soon. How do I live without you in my life?”
Following the news of Hager's death, fans flooded social media with condolences. “You two were my favorite TikTok couple. I’m so sorry for what happened. Roe will forever be with you," one user wrote.
“In absolute disbelief. How could someone so full of life be gone from this world so quickly? Your light and love will be missed!” another added.
