Trump's 'Human Printer' Aide Natalie Harp Lands in the Canada Controversy

Donald Trump's trusted aide, Natalie Harp, has found herself in hot water amid the president’s ongoing trade war with Canada.

Often referred to as the “human printer” because she carries around a portable printer to provide the president with hard copies of any information he requires, including social media posts, Harp has been facing intense scrutiny lately.

Things took a turn on Tuesday, August 25, after Trump made an egregious claim via a Truth Social post, fueling the feud with Canada.

“The United States is giving serious consideration to changing the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America," President Trump wrote

“We don't expect to be doing much business with Ontario any longer. Thank you for your attention to this matter,” he added.

Lake Ontario divides the United States and Canada in a way that its northern part falls into Ontario while the southern portion falls into New York.

The president’s post prompted Debbie Dingell to suggest a workaround that she seemed to believe would benefit the Great Lakes in a better way.

“Let’s just call it Lake Natalie so we know you’ll start protecting our Great Lakes,” the Democratic Congresswoman wrote on X.

Dingle’s social media attack on Trump’s relationship with his 35-year-old aide came shortly after Senator Jon Ossoff called them out during a rally in Georgia.

“He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie to their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar,” he said at the time.

The United States and its northern neighbor had been discussing trade in recent days. However, the talks fell through last Friday when the United States side came up with new demands that Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney called unfair and economically unsustainable.

He also stated that the turn of events made him question the reliability of any deal signed with the U.S.

In response, the U.S. president imposed 50% tariffs on around $20 billion worth of imports from the neighboring country, per The New York Times.

Carney soon imposed retaliatory tariffs, which prompted Maine’s Republican Senator Susan Collins to chime in that “Imposing new tariffs on Canada is a mistake.”

The state borders Canada and frequently exports lobsters, lumber, blueberries and other products to the Canadian market.

Doug Ford, Ontario’s premier, came to his Prime Minister’s defense on Monday, urging Trump to “kiss my a–,” per Financial Express.

“This guy’s a loser. He’s going to be a loser,” he continued, before adding, “And simple as that—we’re gonna fight with everything we have. And you know something? I have more courage, more brains in my baby toe than he has in his whole body.”
