After it was revealed The Wendy Williams Show is set to return Monday, October 4, following a few setbacks, a source is squealing host Wendy Williams might not be ready to return to the iconic purple chair.
“She shouldn't be filming yet — it's way too soon,” a source spilled to The Sun, adding: “She’s stressed and she’s lonely. Wendy has enough money, she’s single. She needs to go get clean and enjoy her life.”
The insiders concern comes after OK! reported on Tuesday, September 28, the official Instagram account for the talk show posted a 20-second teaser, saying, “THE WAIT IS OVER! Season 13 starts MONDAY. You don’t wanna miss it!”
Fans of the beloved daytime diva praised the announcement. “Can't wait. I need my Wendy with my coffee in the morning 🥰,” one user wrote, while another commented: “I prayed so hard for you to get well and I am excited to see you and welcome you back! Yessss Aunty Wendy!”
The 57-year-old’s return to TV comes after she was released from a Manhattan hospital last week after contracting COVID-19 and battling some mental health issues.

After Williams contracted the deadly virus, her team released a statement saying, "To allow Wendy time to quarantine and fully recover and to ensure that our production abides by the SAG/AFTRA and DGA Covid protocols, we expect to begin the 13th season of The Wendy Williams Show on Monday, October 4th. In the meantime, repeats will be scheduled."

Williams has been very open about her struggles with mental health and her ongoing battle with Graves disease — an immune system disorder that results in the overproduction of thyroid hormones.
In February 2018, the controversial talk show host revealed she had been suffering from the debilitating disease for years. The disorder causes anxiety, tremors, as well as puffy or bulging eyes.
