What Will Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Name Their Baby Girl? They May Have Already Told Us
Name dropping! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are just about ready to welcome their second child this summer, and fans can’t stop gossiping about the baby girl names the royal couple has already hinted at.
The pair first began sharing their favorite baby names in 2019 while awaiting the arrival of their son, Archie, 2, and followers of the famous twosome have not forgotten some of the possible baby names they mentioned.
During a visit with St. Anne’s Catholic Primary School students, Harry, 36, hinted at his interest in the name Lily after he asked a mom how to spell her daughter’s name.
A 7-year-old named Megan Dudley reportedly asked Meghan at the time whether she would name the new baby Amy if it was a girl. “She said, ‘That’s a really pretty name, I like it. We’ll have to think about it,’” Dudley recalled.
In 2018, while on their Australian tour, the pair met a fan with a baby named Harriet, and Harry reportedly described it as “a great name.”
After the former Suits alum gave birth to a son in May 2019, the pair paid tribute to the late Princess Diana by naming their baby boy Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, since one of Diana's ancestors from Scotland was named Archibald Campbell, 9th Earl of Argyll.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced in February that they were expecting a second child, and Harry later revealed in their sit-down tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, that Archie’s new younger sibling would be a baby girl.

Fans have since taken to the internet to make guesses and bets on what the baby girl, who is expected to arrive this summer, will be named. Many think the name Philippa is a highly possible contender, which would pay homage to the late Prince Phillip, Harry’s grandfather who died at 99 in April.
According to Ladbrokes, a gambling site in the U.K., Philippa is a popular prediction, with betting odds at 3/1.
“The support for baby Philippa is showing no signs of slowing down, and we’ve been forced to trim the odds again that it’s the name for Harry and Meghan’s daughter,” Ladbrokes worker Jessica O’Reilly said, per The Royal Observer.
Others believe that the pair will choose a name to honor Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, or his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. In April, royal expert Katie Nicholl predicted that the former actress will honor Diana in some way.
“Of course, the Cambirdges gave Charlotte Diana as a middle name, I don’t think that precludes Harry and Meghan from doing that type of same thing. I think it’s very likely to be chosen as a middle name,” she told Entertainment Tonight.
Other famous names that fans are betting on include Kamala, after the first female U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, at 16/1, and Doria, which is Meghan’s mother’s name, coming in at the odds of 25/1.
Other names that rank high on the leaderboard include Allegra (10/1), Alexandra (12/1), Grace (16/1), Emma (16/1), Rose (16/1), Alice (16/1) and Victoria (16/1).
