Attention has shifted to Lindsay Clancy's attorney, Kevin Reddington, after her triple-murder trial ended in a mistrial.

On September 4, Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial in Clancy's case after a deadlocked 11-1 jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict following seven days of deliberations. Jurors were tasked with determining whether the Massachusetts mother was criminally responsible for the deaths of the three children she shared with ex-husband Patrick Clancy — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan — on January 24, 2023.

During the trial, Lindsay's defense argued that postpartum psychosis rendered her not criminally responsible for the killings.

Here's everything to know about Lindsay's lawyer following the latest development in the case.

Attorney Kevin Reddington represents Lindsay Clancy in the murder case.

Born in Cambridge, Mass., on February 9, 1951, Kevin graduated from Boston College in 1972 before earning his law degree from the Suffolk University Law School.

In an interview, the attorney was asked where he had seen the "decline of civility among the profession" most often.

"I don't want to seem as though I'm prejudiced against any particular age groups and all of us over 40 are jealous of everybody under 40. But a gentleman once commented to me last month and I think it's true he said," said Kevin.

He later added, "I don't know if that just comes with vigor or excessive ardor in the course of defending or prosecuting a claim or a case. But I think most of the time attorneys are very respectful to each other, the court and their clients and try to show respect for people. … Basically I think there is civility in the courtroom."

The murder trial ended in a mistrial.

Kevin is defending Lindsay as she faces three counts of first-degree murder for the 2023 strangulation deaths of her children.

In the defense's opening statement, the lawyer said his client was "a heck of a mother" who loved her children despite her struggles with mental health.

"She's living in her own h---. She knows what happened to those kids," Kevin said. "This is a young woman that, with her husband, tried very hard to get the help she needed."

After a nearly six-week trial and seven-day deliberations, the judge declared a mistrial after jurors failed to come to a unanimous decision over whether the Massachusetts mother was criminally responsible for murdering her children.

"Obviously this is not a time for gloating, bragging, expressing victory. It's a very sad case," Kevin said outside the courthouse. "[Tim] Cruz knows that he was crushed. He doesn't have a case. He doesn't have to stand here and say that he's advocating on behalf of the victims and then look down to see what their names are."

He added, "I am representing a woman that is a fantastic, wonderful individual. This woman is so brave, so awesome. Every day she came into this courthouse stood tall, no pun intended. The poor thing is in wheelchair as we all know for the rest of her life and sat there through seven weeks of the trial where nobody had anything bad to say about her except for the two prosecutors and apparently Tim Cruz."
