Getting away from L.A.?
Will Smith was spotted out and about in Mumbai, India, in his first photographed public appearance since the famed Oscars slap. The King Richard star has been laying low amid the fallout that came from smacking Chris Rock across the face on live television after the comic made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's shaved head.
Following the altercation, the Academy banned Smith from the Oscars for ten years, and he has lost out on several lucrative gigs. Sony allegedly put Bad Boys 4 pre-production on hold indefinitely, and Netflix and Apple+ have reportedly taken back their offers for the rights to a biopic based on the life of the Aladdin star.
Despite his recent career bumps, Smith was all smiles as he mingled with fans at a Mumbai airfield on Saturday, April 23.

Although it is uncertain whether he was in India for business or pleasure, the Suicide Squad actor seemed more than happy to take his time snapping photos with the clamoring crowd.
It also appeared Smith was there without his family, as he was spotted leaving his car all by himself aside from his watchful security team.
This trip may be just the getaway Smith needs after weeks of making headlines. As OK! previously reported, sources spilled things are strained at home with his wife after the incident at the Academy Awards.
"Ever since the Oscars scandal, the tension between them has been palpable," a source dished. "There have been problems for years, but they're barely speaking right now."
"Will has made no secret of how uncomfortable he feels about Jada sharing every personal detail of their marriage," the source reportedly explained, referring to Pinkett Smith's plans to delve into the slap on Red Table Talk. "He had so much pressure on him from big studios to sell their movies, and you have to be squeaky clean. This is the last straw and could force him to finally end things."
