Fans of 19 Kids And Counting were upset to learn that the TLC show had been cancelled in the wake of the Josh Duggar molestation scandal, but happy that Jill Duggar Dillard and Jessa Duggar Seewald were getting their own special. One person who was not glad to hear this news? Jim Bob Duggar!

According to People, the girls’ dad and family patriarch is “not fond of” TLC’s plan to feature the sisters in a special documentary to raise awareness about child sexual abuse. And despite his claims that he and the family would “go on and live life” without cameras, he wanted desperately to remain the star.

“He absolutely wanted to be back on TV and was never thrilled about the show suddenly shifting focus,” the source told People.

The report said that Jim Bob and the network spent two months in “near-constant” and “intense” discussions about future of the show, but he wanted the entire family and their Christian values to remain center stage.
