Ariana Grande emerged for the first time since her abrupt split from finacé Pete Davidson to perform a song from Wicked. The pop star announced she was recording "The Wizard and I" as part of the NBC event, "A Very Wicked Halloween: Celebrating 15 Years on Broadway" — just days after the news broke that she and Pete wouldn't be walking down the aisle any time soon. Read on for more details.
The pop star, 25, filmed her performance on Tuesday as part of the special, which is set to air later this month. It's meant to honor the Broadway musical Wicked. “Honored to be included in this celebration of 15 years of my favorite musical of all time," she wrote on Instagram. "Wouldn’t miss it for the whole universe." She posted behind the scenes photos from the taping on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Pete is "incredibly heartbroken" following the breakup, a source revealed to Entertainment Tonight. He's gone MIA from social media and recently pulled out of a comedy performance citing "personal reasons."
However, Ariana looks like she's trying to move forward. She's returned her engagement ring to the Saturday Night Live star, but is refusing to give up her pet pig, Piggy Smallz, a gift from Pete.

In order to give herself some time to regroup following her breakup, the "No Tears Left To Cry" singer told her followers on Instagram Tuesday night that she is taking a break from social media.
"Time to say bye bye again to the internet for just a little bit," Ariana wrote. "It’s hard not to bump into news and stuff that I’m not trying to see right now. It’s very sad and we’re all trying very hard to keep going. Love you and thank you for being here always."
