The IQ — or intelligence quotient — that some of the smartest celebrities have achieved is impressive. Especially interesting are actors who play less intelligent characters in movies or TV shows such as: Nolan Gould, Lisa Kudrow and Goldie Hawn whose IQs are unbelievable.
For context, Einstein never took an IQ test but, according to Biography.com, people like to assign him a score of 160. According to Newsweek, Mensa says IQ is more about mental agility than knowledge or wisdom.
The Chive.com says IQs of 125 are usually attributed to lawyers and doctors, and those with 135 equal neurosurgeons and research scientists. Hollywood is filled with geniuses — from Arnold Schwarzenegger to Mr. Bean himself, Rowan Atkinson, whose IQ is virtually off the charts.
1. Jordana Brewster, 130.
2. Arnold Schwarzenegger, 135.
According to TVOverMind.com Arnold’s IQ is strikingly high, but his career as a bodybuilder and action hero make most people think he’s all brawn.
3. Emma Watson, 138.
4. Geena Davis, 140.
Geena Davis’ IQ makes her another Mensa member. Indeed, according to Moodspike.com, she’s even got an honorary doctoral degree from Bates College for her work on gender studies in the media. According to Zimbio, Geena showed off her smarts at an early age by becoming fluent in Swedish after joining her high school’s exchange program.
5. Glenne Headly, 140.
According to TheChive.com, the actress who was married to John Malkovich boasted an IQ of 140. Glenne studied drama in NYC then attended the American College of Switzerland on a scholarship.
6. Goldie Hawn, 140+.
7. Steve Martin, 142.
8. Nolan Gould, 150.
He plays dummy Luke Dunphy on Modern Family, but Nolan Gould is the opposite with a staggering IQ of 150. According to TVOverMind.com, Nolan’s a member of Mensa and graduated high school at age 13.
9. Lisa Kudrow, 152.
Lisa Kudrow played an airhead on Friends, but in real life she has an incredible IQ. Lisa’s degree is from Vassar College where, according to TVOverMind.com, she helped her father’s research project studying the relationships between being left-handed and developing headaches. What would Smelly Cat have made of that?
10. Sharon Stone, 154.
In Basic Instinct, Sharon Stone raised eyebrows while crossing her legs. But with an IQ of 154 eyebrows should be raised even higher. According to TVOverMind.com, Sharon was only five when she started second grade. At 15, she accepted a scholarship to Edinboro University, which she then left to pursue a career in modeling.
11. Aisha Tyler, 154.
12. Reggie Jackson, 160.
According to PurpleClover.com, baseball legend and Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson’s IQ reached a stunning 160 points. To give that some perspective, John F. Kennedy’s IQ was just 120. Reggie led the Oakland Athletics to victory in the 1973 World Series where he was named the MVP.
13. Ashton Kutcher, 160.
14. Dolph Lundgren, 160.
An actor known more his fight scenes than for his intelligence, Dolph has been hiding a phenomenal IQ of 160, but you don’t have to dig too deep to find evidence. According to TVOverMind.com, Dolph has a degree in chemical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology, an MS in the same field from the University of Sydney, and he scored a very rare Fulbright Scholarship to none other than MIT.
