Braunwyn Windham-Burke admitted she was unfaithful to her husband and father of seven children, Sean, during a dark period in their marriage. The Bravo star confessed on an episode of the Real Housewives of Orange County After Show on October 29 what went down when she cheated.
Braunwyn, 41, sat down with costar Shannon Beador where the mom of seven dished on what happened and how she handled the situation. "Sean and I almost got divorced,” Braunwyn said.
“I cheated on Sean. We separated. I took the kids. He was with someone else too,” the Barefoot in Heels blog creator revealed. “We were in two different homes. I went to Hawaii. I took the kids. I enrolled them in school. I told Sean I was done.”
Braunwyn added that while in Hawaii, she began dating another man. She said that she grew tired of Sean's busy work life that required him to be away for long periods of time. She confessed that she couldn't be a single mom anymore.
“It was very PG. It was like, holding hands on a surfboard kind of thing,” the RHOC newcomer continued. “It was someone that listened to me. We surfed together. We would go for walks. I wasn’t ready for anything more but it was just nice to have someone listen.”
After a few months in Hawaii, Braunwyn and Sean reunited and the couple renewed their vows. Sean quit his hectic job as a businessman and became a stay-at-home-dad. "He sold his shares and walked away and he became a stay-at-home-dad for eight years. He said, ‘I would rather choose you guys than my work,’” Braunwyn said. “That’s when I decided to give him another chance.”
Despite the pair's break, they decided to work on their marriage to come out stronger. “We put in the work and we came out better for it. We acknowledged where we were, how we got there, and what we wanted. For us, it was the best thing that ever happened,” she concluded.
Previously, costar Gina Kirschenheiter accused Sean of cheating on Braunwyn. The 35-year-old suggested an affair during an appearance on the After Show that aired October 2. “I think it’s kinda sad actually. I think personally, I’ve thought about it a little bit, I think her husband may have cheated on her because she’s said all these things: she’s been through it all, and she understands,” Gina explained on the show, adding that she believed Braunwyn and Sean engage in threesomes to spice up their love life.
