Caitlyn Jenner took to her Twitter on Wednesday to offer her first public praise to a celeb who has offered her support during her transition. But the I Am Cait star’s words of gratitude weren’t reserved for one of her most vocal champions over the past couple of months -- Kim Kardashian. Instead Jenner chose to send her love to the beloved actress and LGBT advocate Laverne Cox!
“@LaverneCox, you are fierce and fabulous! Your support means the world. Thank you for all that you do for the community,” Jenner wrote in the sweet post she uploaded to Twitter.
And Cox quickly returned the message with her own loving words for her friend, saying that it was her “pleasure” to support Jenner and she sends her “lots of love always.”
Jenner’s message to Cox came after the actress wrote a Tumblr note about Jenner following her big reveal on the cover of Vanity Fair on June 1. “Yes, Caitlyn looks amazing and is beautiful but what I think is most beautiful about her is her heart and soul. The ways she has allowed the world into her vulnerabilities,” Cox wrote.

She continued, “The love and devotion she has for her family and that they have for her. Her courage to move past denial into her truth so publicly. These things are beyond beautiful to me. Most trans folks don’t have the privileges Caitlyn and I have now have. It is those trans folks we must continue to lift up, get them access to healthcare, jobs, housing, safe streets, safe schools and homes for our young people.”

The two ladies’ fans have been gushing over their social media shoutouts. But many have also noted that despite Kardashian basically being the spokesperson for the Kardashian family on Jenner’s transition and Jenner praising her for her support during her 20/20 interview and Keeping Up With the Kardashians special, Cait has yet to shoutout the social media maven on Twitter!
However, following the release of her Vanity Fair interview, Jenner has gone on to share some nice statements about her ex Kris Jenner. “Reading the VF article reminded me of the love & good times Kris & I shared for so many years.
