Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell of Teen Mom have been caring for their newborn, Novalee Reign, 24/7 since her birth on Jan. 1, but yes, even new parents need a break sometimes. Yesterday, Cate and Ty enjoyed a little date away from their baby—which involved getting tattoos!
Both Catelynn and Tyler revealed yesterday that they were getting inked, and that each of their new pieces would be an ode to their baby girl. The tattoo parlor, Lance Kellar, located near their home in Michigan, even posted this picture and revealed that the MTV cameras were there to capture the moment for the new season!
So, what did they decide to get done? Catelynn got Nova's foot tattooed on her left foot. This is just the photo of it before it was done—we're still waiting on the after shot.
Tyler's tat, however, is a bit less subtle than Catelynn's. Teen Mom fans know that Tyler has a thing for Batman, so he decided to incorporate the character into his tattoo for his daughter, which was her full name plastered across his left shoulder above an image of Batman. "This representation that I will always protect her is PERFECT!" Tyler wrote on Instagram of the full meaning behind his ink.

Anyway, the couple's new ink is reminiscent of their previous tattoos which we saw them get on an early season of Teen Mom in honor of their other daughter, Carly, whom they placed for adoption after her birth in 2009. Catelynn's Carly tattoo, though it's located on her back rather than her foot, is similar to her Nova one, as both are of the little girls' footprints.

Tyler has a Carly tattoo as well. His is similar to Catelynn's and features the baby's name, handprint and birthdate etched across his stomach.
We're happy to know that the tattoo sesh was taped for the new season of Teen Mom OG—we're not sure if we're more excited to see that or the full gender reveal party that was teased in the promos!
