Christie Brinkley’s ex-husband Peter Cook reportedly lied about the age of his college student fiancée, Alba Jancou! The architect claimed she was 21 years old when in fact she’s 20. Christy and Peter’s daughter Sailor Brinkley-Cook is 21.
“SHE SAID YES! ?️,” Peter, 60, announced on Instagram on October 29 alongside photos with his fiancée Alba. Peter popped the question with a six-carat diamond ring while on vacation in Greece. He shared pictures of the pair cuddled up and enjoying drinks while admiring her engagement ring.
The couple has been dating since 2018 and made their relationship public during a few parties in the Hamptons this summer.
Peter actually proposed to Alba in September, Us Weekly confirmed, despite his announcement nearly a month later. The timing of his announcement was just eight days after his daughter Sailor and her partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy were eliminated from Dancing With The Stars.
“We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to have found, in each other, our soulmate. We are looking forward to many years of wedded bliss,” Peter told Page Six at the time.
He also reportedly told the outlet via his rep that his bride-to-be was 21 and claimed a post on her social media account of her 18th birthday had the wrong date. The post from 2017 has since been deleted. Her Instagram account is also private.
Alba is only 20 years old, Us Weekly confirmed on November 13. The Tulane University student doesn’t turn 21 until March. Sailor celebrated the milestone birthday on July 2.
Peter and Alba are planning to have a destination wedding in 2020.
Prior to Peter and Alba’s relationship, the architect was in hot water with his ex-wives for allegedly cheating on them with younger women. Christie and Peter got divorced in 2008 after the Sports Illustrated model claimed the architect had an affair with his 18-year-old assistant Diana Bianchi.
Peter’s second wife Suzanne Shaw divorced him in 2014 and also accused him of cheating and having a “secret pathological predilection” for young women.
