Is ‘Counting On’ Canceled? Duggar Family Friend Tells All About The TLC Show’s Future

Have fans seen the last of the Duggars? Despite multiple reports claiming that the Duggars have spoken out about the return of Counting On, the ever-growing bunch has remained mum on all things reality TV ever since their show’s season six finale. However, their family friends, Lily and Ellie, have dished the latest news about Counting On’s TV return.
“Counting On has been off the air for six weeks now, and we know you all are eager to hear whether the Duggars will be returning for a new season,” Lilly and Ellie wrote on their Duggar Family Blog site (not to be confused with the Duggar’s verified blog site, Duggar Family).
“We have been in contact with TLC, but at this time, there are no announcements to share,” they told fans.
While the two didn’t go into specifics about their “contact with TLC,” it’s safe to assume a decision has not been finalized as the network recently made a big move by firing one of the show’s stars, Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard.

As OK! readers’ know, Derick was given the boot after going on multiple transphobic Twitter attacks targeted at 17-year-old I Am Jazz star, Jazz Jennings.
While the future of the show remains up in the air, the Duggars have somehow managed to remain in the headlines. In addition to Derick’s Twitter scandal, Jill has seemingly ditched her family’s strict rules, as she’s gotten her nose pierced, started wearing pants, and most recently, she got a tattoo – all Duggar no-nos. #Rebel
