Hayden Panettiere Enters Treatment Center – Find Out The New Mother’s Struggle

Hayden Panettiere could relate to her Nashville character’s struggle with postpartum depression, as the actress has entered a treatment center for the same illness.

“Hayden Panettiere is voluntarily seeing professional help at a treatment center as she is currently battling postpartum depression,” the 26-year-old’s rep said in a statement. “She asks that the media respect her privacy during this time.”

News of the rehab stint doesn’t come as a surprise, as the actress has been open about her struggle with postpartum depression. “It’s something a lot of women experience,” she said on Live! With Kelly and Michael in September. “When you’re told about postpartum depression you think it’s ‘I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child.’ I’ve never, ever had those feelings. Some women do. It’s something that needs to be talked about. Women need to know that they’re not alone, and that it does heal.”

Hayden welcomed her first child, Kaya, 10 months, with husband Wladimir Klitschko in December 2014.
