Justin Timberlake took to Instagram on Wednesday, December 4 to break his silence and publicly apologize to wife Jessica Biel after he was photographed holding hands with his Palmer costar Alisha Wainwright. The "Mirrors" singer admitted to a "strong lapse in judgement" but denied cheating in his statement.
"I stay away from gossip as much as I can, but for my family I feel it is important to address recent rumors that are hurting the people I love," he began.
He continued, "A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse in judgment — but let me be clear — nothing happened between me and my costar. I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior. I should have known better. This is not the example I want to set for my son. I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that."
He wrapped up his statement by expressing his excitement for his upcoming movie. "I am incredibly proud to be working on Palmer. Looking forward to continuing to make this movie and excited for people to see it," he concluded.

Justin raised eyebrows and got the rumor mill churning when he was photographed getting a little too cozy with Alisha at a bar in New Orleans on November 21. They were caught holding hands under the table, and at one point Alisha rested her hand on Justin's inner thigh. Making things look even more suspicious was the fact that the Grammy winner did not appear to be wearing his wedding ring on the outing. Sources insisted they were "just friends" after the photos went viral.
"Several cast members were there and it was just a cast gathering. Nothing remotely romantic is going on with Justin and Alisha. The whole cast is shooting out there and like to hang out together. They were very much in public and nothing inappropriate was happening," a source told Us Weekly at the time.
Jessica, 37, has yet to speak out about her husband's perceived indiscretion, but behind the scenes she's reportedly sticking by him. "Their marriage will survive. He feels guilty and will make it up to her. She is very good to him and he knows how lucky he is. He says it was not a big deal, they were all hanging out together and that's the end of the story," a source told E! News.
Justin returned to work on the Palmer set on November 24, and he hasn't made any telling efforts to avoid Alisha. They were photographed leaving the same trailer on a break from filming on November 26.
