Kanye West fans, rejoice! The rapper’s highly anticipated album Jesus Is King is almost here. On Wednesday, October 23, Kanye, 42, previewed his ninth studio album for free at the Forum in Los Angeles, along with an IMAX film of the same name. However, complications at will call caused massive delays for fans to get into the venue. Kanye’s wife Kim Kardahian and her sister Kourtney were forced to keep the crowd entertained.
Kim, 39, documented on her Instagram Stories an attempt to quell the growing crowd inside the Forum. Concertgoers chanted each of the star’s names as they jumped up and down in excitement. “I get love too lol,” Kim wrote in a video of the crowd. “Kourtney too!” she followed up with shortly after with shots of the packed venue. Some fans even asked Kim and Kourtney, 40, to sign their Jesus is King merchandise and showed off their Kanye tattoos as they waited for the preview to start.
Kanye invited members of the public to experience the visually stunning preview event for free. Artist Meg Webster was commissioned to create a natural instillation inside of the Forum. Attendees stood among large reeds and grass as they watched the IMAX film and saw Kanye perform. During the show, Kanye’s audience was reportedly so engaged with his performance that he had to stop at one point and ask that fans back up from him in order to continue the show.
The album focuses on lyrics about Christians judging Kanye the most for creating a gospel album, along with his Sunday Service church experience. One of the songs includes the line, "Closed on Sunday, you my Chick-fil-A," which references the fast food chain’s religious choice to remain closed on Sunday.

It’s been over a year since Kanye dropped his critically acclaimed album Ye last summer. The fashion designer was slated to release album Yandhi on September 29, 2018 which was delayed until November at the time, and appears to be shelved for good. Kim, 39, teased a track list for Jesus Is King on Twitter in August, which ignited excitement and curiosity from Kanye stans.
Kanye has also been working hard on the Sunday Services which he considers his passion project. He hosted several gospel performances across the country. The shows have taken place in Chicago, Wyoming, Ohio, and even on Easter Sunday at Coachella this year. His Sunday Services have been praised by many, including Gwen Stefani and Brad Pitt.
The album and IMAX film Jesus Is King will be released on Friday, October 25.
