Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are bringing baby Archie to California to spend Thanksgiving in Los Angeles with her mother Doria Ragland! The royal couple is set to take a six week sabbatical for some "much needed family time" and the first order of business will be to head to the Duchess' hometown for the holiday.
"The Duke and Duchess have a full schedule of engagements and commitments until mid-November, after which they will be taking some much-needed family time," a source told the The Sunday Times. They will reportedly spend Thanksgiving with Meghan's mother Doria in Los Angeles and head back to England for Christmas with the Queen and other members of the royal family at Sandringham in Norfolk.
The trip will mark the first time Archie visits America. The little heir, 5 months, accompanied his parents on their official tour in Africa earlier this month.
In the documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, set to air on ITV in the U.K. on Sunday, Meghan opened up about the difficulties she's had adjusting to life in the royal spotlight.
"Any woman, especially when they’re pregnant, you’re really vulnerable, and so that was made really challenging. And then when you have a newborn, you know. And especially as a woman, it’s a lot," she said when asked by interviewer Tom Bradby if she was "okay" amid all the public scrutiny.
She continued, "So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed. It’s um … yeah. I guess, also thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I’m okay, but it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes."
Meghan has had a handful of opportunities to enjoy her private life in recent months though. She flew commercial from London to New York City to watch pal Serena Williams compete at the U.S Open at the beginning of September. Later that month, she and Harry made a quick trip to Rome to attend the wedding of her best friend Misha Nonoo.
