Former Real Housewives of New Jersey star Amber Marchese revealed she isn’t surprised by Teresa and Joe Giudice’s split! The couple has been married for over 20 years and were each other’s high school sweethearts. It was confirmed on December 17 that they separated.
“Do you see the newspaper? Do you see what is going on in this world? I don’t give a rat’s a** about people who don’t pay their taxes and commit crimes,” Amber, 42, told Us Weekly in reaction to the couple’s legal history.
She continued, “As much as I would love to try to care about Housewives drama, it is not surprising the Giudices have succumbed to the curse of it. No one survives that show.”
Amber starred on RHONJ opposite Teresa, 47, on season 6 in 2014. She left the Bravo series after only one season.
As RHONJ fans remember, Teresa and Joe had an intense interview with Andy Cohen in October after Joe flew to Italy while he awaits the decision on his deportation case. During the segment, they both accused each other of cheating.

Teresa visited Joe, 47, in Italy in November and a month later they split. “Teresa and Joe have separated, but have no plans to divorce yet. Teresa and Joe talked about their future when she and the girls were in Italy and decided it was best for them to separate,” a source told Us Weekly on December 17. “Neither of them wanted to be in a long distance relationship. Joe has been dating in Italy, Teresa is busy taking care of their girls right now.”
The source added, “They harbor no ill will towards each other and will continue to coparent their kids. The girls will be going to Italy in December, Teresa will be staying home.” Teresa and Joe parents to Gia, Gabriella, Milania and Audriana.
Teresa and Joe have been living apart for nearly four years. In March 2016 he was sentenced to 41 months in prison for mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud. The Italian-born businessman was released from prison in March 2019 and immediately detained by ICE.
Due to the poor conditions of the ICE facility, he flew to Italy while a judge makes a decision on his final appeal to live in the U.S.
