‘Riverdale’ Star Vanessa Morgan Ties The Knot With Michael Kopech

Vanessa Morgan is a married woman! The Riverdale actress, 27, tied the knot with her fiancé and Chicago White Sox pitcher, Michael Kopech on Saturday, January 4, according to Us Weekly

The couple exchanged vows in front of their closest friends and family in an intimate ceremony at the Historic Walton House in Homestead, Florida. The ceremony consisted of 40 guests including Vanessa’s costar Skeet UlrichDrew Tanner, and Madelaine Petsch. The Frankie and Alex actress’s sister Celine served as her maid of honor.

During an interview with E! News, Vanessa opened up about her big day, telling reporters, “We both knew the first day we met that. ‘this is it’ and I’m so excited that today officially starts our forever.” The actress added, “Today, I vowed to love my best friend for a lifetime, and it was a day spent with those we love in a room filled with endless love, I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him.”

Vanessa and Michael, 23, announced their engagement on Instagram over the fourth of July weekend in 2019. The actress revealed the news by posting two photos of the professional baseball player proposing in front of a beautiful waterfall. “My Forever,” the Pimp actress captioned the snap which featured her engagement ring.

Michael also confirmed the news of their engagement with a now-deleted video of the proposal, which took place at the Grand Canyon’s Mooney Falls in Arizona.

The pro athlete captioned the video which showed him getting down on one knee and the actress excitedly accepting the ring. “So, I’ll start with the obvious: I love you. I love you intensely, passionately, and also at times, recklessly. I make decisions on the spur of the moment.” Adding, “I’m a very non-traditional type of person and I know I’ve found my match in you when it comes to that especially. Our relationship probably doesn’t make sense to many people for a s**t ton of reasons, but we’re not doing it for them. We know this is forever. Why would we wait?”

The newlyweds met a few years ago via social media when Vanessa saw Michael on her Instagram explore page. The actress then followed him on Twitter and he immediately followed her back. A few weeks later, Michael DMed Vanessa and they spoke for a few months until they decided to meet in Chicago in June 2018.

Michael previously dated Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Brielle Biermann, daughter of Kim Zolciak-Biermann. The couple ended their relationship in March 2018 after two years of dating.
