Teresa Giudice may not be rocking designer duds or living in her luxurious New Jersey mansion, but the Real Housewives of New Jersey star is adjusting to prison life just fine.
The reality star’s lawyer James J. Leonard, Jr. told People, “She’s doing great. I got a series of emails from her and she is doing phenomenally. It seems like she is getting acclimated very well.”

Since reporting to the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut on Monday for fraud charges, Teresa will receive her first visit from her husband Joe Giudice over the weekend. “I can only assume he is bringing the kids,” James shared. “She is looking forward to visits from her children. I think she wants to see them whenever she can.”
The lawyer also set the record straight on Teresa’s release date. He explained that federal prisoners must serve 85 percent of their sentence. “So her 13-month release date – Feb. 5 – is actually 85 percent of her sentence,” he said.

He even dished that Teresa could be out as early as Christmas! "Prisoners can also take six months or 10 percent off that 85 percent," he shared. "So for her, 10 percent of 15 months is one and a half months, which puts that date in late December – just before Christmas."
Although she may be heading home earlier than her current Feb. 5th release date, James explained that she is still a prisoner and may have to serve time in either a halfway house or under house arrest.

“Our goal is that Teresa will serve out the end of her sentence in home confinement in lieu of going to a halfway house,” her lawyer dished. “When you are in a halfway house, you are able to leave and go to work, etc. So they will allow her to do certain things with their permission.” That means Teresa may be able to leave the halfway house to film RHONJ!
