Tristan Thompson Gets Ejected From Game For Slapping Former Teammate Jae Crowder’s Butt
Tristan Thompson didn’t end his Friday night game that way he had intended to. During his game against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Cleveland Cavalier player, 28, was ejected from the game after slapping his opponent’s, Jae Crowder, butt.
Tristan was shooting free throws during the third quarter of the Cavalier’s 113-109 loss to the Grizzlies when Jae, 29, was subbed out of the game. As Jae, who is also Tristan's former teammate, made his way to the bench, Tristan reached out and attempted to slap his backside.
Jae stopped walking as soon as Tristan touched him and turned to an official. NBA referee J.T. Orr then gave Tristan his second technical foul for the move and demanded him off the court. Tristan snapped back at the ref, demanding an explanation.
Tristan and Jae exchanged words as their teammates crowded around them. Jae eventually headed back to the bench, while Tristan continued to yell while his fellow players and coaching staff held him back. Khloe Kardashian’s ex ultimately made it back to the Cavaliers’ locker room.

Shortly after, Tristan explained his actions during an interview with Cleveland.com saying, “Former teammate of mine. So, we have history and it was just a little competitive spirit. They might have taken it the wrong way probably because they forgot that, I don’t know, we were teammates for half the years, so it feels like playing anyone else, like if I was playing Kyrie Irvingor something.”
He continued, “The same thing. They teched us. I’m definitely calling the PA Players Association to appeal that—one thousand percent. Just competitive jawning. Nothing negative just got a tech for being former teammates. Guess you can’t talk to your former teammates no more.”
Tristan’s incident comes as the NBA star has been spending more time with his ex, Khloe, 35. The pair attended the annual Kardashian-Jenner Christmas Eve event in December 2019 and even posed for a few pictures together along with their daughter, True.
Khloe’s sister Kim Kardashian was also spotted showing supportfor Tristan. The KKW Beauty founder and her husband Kanye West both seen cheering on Tristan as his team played against the Lakers in Los Angeles, California on Monday, January 13.
