Another one bites the dust! Dorinda Medley announced she is exiting The Real Housewives of New York after six seasons on August 25. “What a journey this has been. I have laughed and cried and tried to Make it Nice,” the 55-year-old captioned a photo of herself in a glitzy dress, referring to her iconic catchphrase.
“But all things must come to an end,” she continued. “This was a great outlet for me to heal when my late husband Richard passed away. I have met so many interesting people and learned so much about myself, about life and about women along the way.”
Ultimately, Medley couldn’t help but give a shout-out to the other ladies — Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, and Leah McSweeney — on the show. “Thank you to Bravo and NBC for the incredible ride and to my cast mates for constant stimulation and entertainment,” she shared. “I wish you all health, happiness and success. Clip! Dorinda.”

Of course, some of her co-workers and other Bravo personalities couldn’t help but comment on the surprising news. “All the same to you,” Singer commented, while executive producer Andy Cohen wrote, “What a ride. Unforgettable.” Bethenny Frankel, who left the series in August 2019, added, “XOXO.”
“You are a legend, forever an ICON love you @dorindamedley,” RHONJ star Margaret Josephs gushed, while Lisa Rinna from RHOBH wrote, “True Queen.” RHOC alum Tamra Judge couldn’t help but get emotional, writing, “No! You’re gonna be missed!”

Medley is the second cast member to walk away from the show this season. In June, Tinsley Mortimer revealed she was leaving the iconic reality show for Chicago. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all my fans and friends who supported me and are happy for my fairy tale ending,” she wrote on Instagram. “Without #RHONY, I would have never met my Prince Charming, Scott. Being a Houeswife was such a fun experience, and I thank @bravoandy and all the wonderful people at Shed Media and @bravotv.”
Medley has been through some ups and downs over the years, including breaking up with her boyfriend John Mahdessian, in addition to suffering from a broken rib. To top it all off, her house in Massachusetts, a.k.a. Bluestone Manor was flooded and needed a huge renovation.
“I was going through a lot of changes that were really taking a toll in my personal life,” she previously told PEOPLE. “There were moments where I was like, ‘I don’t want to do this. It’s too much, it’s too big.’”

At the end of the day, Medley was happy to be a part of the Bravo franchise and learned a lot along the way. “I feel very happy with who I am, how I am, and where I am in life now,” she admitted. “I’m a really great me now. I’m sort of in a really good, empowered place, and I can run myself emotionally, financially, physically, and spiritually. What comes out of that, we’ll see!”
One thing is for sure: Medley will keep making things nice in her career.
