AnnaSophia Robb Battles Bad Hair Days With Scrunchies
For the past few years, the scrunchie was never a hair accessory you’d normally find yourself bragging about. It doesn’t have a festival edge (send your thanks to Coachella for those floral halos), and you probably only used it when tying up your hair for a quick shower.
But times changes, trends arrive, and whether you like it or not, the scrunchie and all its retro glam is back. And even the celebs are adopting it.

While celebrating the Mark Hill Salon Professional's One Year Anniversary celebration, actress AnnaSophia Robb revealed that she’s been using scrunchies and had a serious feeling they’d make a comeback. Check out our interview with AnnaSophia and hairstylist Mark Hill himself for the need-to-know beauty scoop, 90s hair talk, and more.
OK! Magazine: Your hair looks amazing. Tell me about the look you created tonight?
Mark Hill: We decided to go for big, gorgeous, bouncy waves because we wanted to show off her beautiful color, which is natural. I was amazed when I first met her. This is incredible hair—and how beautiful the condition of her hair was in! It was really about bringing that to life.

OK!: What’s a go-to hairstyle for you on a day off?
AnnaSophia Robb: A messy bun. I don’t do anything to my hair.
OK:! Do you know how to make a topknot look really amazing?
AR: I like to pretend I am one of those girls. I use a scrunchie because it creates less bend. If I am having a bad hair day, I’ll stick my hair up in a scrunchie and in a topknot. During the day, I’ll take it down and it’ll be wavy.
MH: Scrunchies are making a big comeback.
AR: You know what? They are! I called that like three years ago. All my friends made fun of me and now they’re coming back. I’d like to claim it for myself!

OK!: Do you have any favorites 90s hair trends?
AR: Crimping. I had a crimping iron, I remember. I never quite got it right!
MH: It’s easy to get wrong. It makes a big difference. The 90s are massive again now. You see it in so many of the girls.
OK!: You did a parody of Sofia Coppola’s upcoming The Little Mermaid project. Would you ever go red?
AR: I didn’t think I would be able to pull it off. You know what, I would. I think it would be fun. Why not? I love my hair color now, but if it goes darker and starts changing, I would experiment. I thought about it. I was going to dye my tips.
