Alec Baldwin will not be running for mayor of New York in 2013, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to in the future!
Alec had a nice heart-to-heart chat with The New York Times about the rumors of him potentially running for mayor of New York.
The 30 Rock actor has a plan.
He wants to finish his work on the show, go back to school in the fall of 2012, and then maybe he’ll be ready to run. But making the 2013 campaign would be a bit too hard with his obligations to 30 Rock, and he wants to learn about the job!
Still, running for mayor of NYC is something the Long Island native is passionate about. He has six children, lives on the Upper West Side and feels a connection to all New Yorkers.
“What I think the government should be doing, who I think government should be serving, and in what way and what it should be prioritizing is a lot different than people would think,” he explained.
But Alex wants to wait for the right opportunity and is aware that he could fail.
“I am someone who is fully prepared for the fact that I could go into this and do it and completely have my ass kicked,” he said. “I could throw a party, and no one could come. And it would be this staggering lesson for me.”
