Amanda Bynes remains on a 5150 hold—an involuntary hospitalization for mental evaluation that can last up to 72 hours—but she could be held in the hospital much longer.
TMZ reports the former child star may be exhibiting signs of schizophrenia and doctors want more time to assess the situation.
As OKMagazine.com reported, Amanda was admitted to the hospital after firefighters rushed to put out a small fire she had set in the driveway of a home in Thousand Oaks, Calif., Monday evening. After the blaze was extinguished, firefighters reportedly called the sheriff’s department to investigate the incident.
In a new disturbing video that has come to light, after the fire Amanda carried her pet Pomeranian to a nearby liquor store, where she washed gas off the dog in a sink. The below video shows a worker trying to get her to leave the employees-only area.
The dog is safe and in the care of Amanda’s mom and dad, who are also trying to make sure their daughter finally gets the much needed help she so desperately needs.
“Amanda’s parents will now ask a judge to put the 27-year-old in a conservatorship, a la Britney Spears, because they believe she is unable to care for herself and could be a danger to others,” TMZ alleges, citing sources familiar with the situation.
Despite weathering criticism, Amanda’s family was not legally able to force their daughter to get help before she was deemed a threat to herself.
