As Jillian Michaels shows off her bikini bod on the cover of next month’s issue of Shape, she shares her thoughts on adoption, therapy and her love for the snack popchips!
Staying in tip-top shape isn’t easy for everyone, and for the Biggest Loser trainer who says there’s a “giant hole in my life” (and sounds like she’s ready to adopt a child), it’s clear she closely manages her healthy diet.
In next month’s issue of Shape, according to JustJared, Jillian dishes about food and her body image. “I give food a number on a scale from one to 10,” she explains. “Ones are superfoods and will practically cure cancer, like organic spinach. Tens are crap that could kill you tomorrow, like a prepackaged cupcake. The highest I’ll go is a five or six. For example, I adore popchips. They’re 100 calories a bag — no preservatives, no trans fats, and no artificial sweeteners. Is it a superfood? No. But will it kill me? No!”
And yes, you can breathe a sigh of relief — despite the buff bod, just like a normal person, she still has problem areas! “No matter how thin I get,” she confesses, “I still have cellulite. I’ve tried every cream… I’ve finally reached a point where I accept my flaw, but that doesn’t mean I feel good about it.”
Accepting her body seems like a key to happiness, as she mentions she has been seeing a shrink since she was 5 years old! “I said to him the other day, ‘How am I still talking to you? Why am I not the Buddha at this point?’ But it does help control those behaviors that can send you to the fridge or compel you to tell your boss to shove it!”
