Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers has reportedly tried to take his own life.
The Tudors star has openly battled struggles with alcoholism and was allegedly hospitalized in London Tuesday night after reportedly ingesting pills in his home, Radar Online reports.
The 33-year-old actor was said to be found “slumped” on his Central London property Tuesday, and after paramedics responded to an emergency call from his address, they had to “contact police after he refused treatment at the scene for around 30 minutes.”
Scotland Yard in London confirmed yesterday, via Radar, that “Officers were called by London Ambulance Service following reports of a man refusing treatment. The man was taken to hospital.”
Jonathan was released from the hospital yesterday morning, but has not spoken out on the incident.
The actor — who plays Henry VIII on the popular Showtime program The Tudors — checked into a rehab in South Africa earlier this month, after seeking help their in the past.
Last year, he was banned from a flight after he reportedly drank to much and was being disruptive.
