How’s your Friday going? Need a little bit of rumor to spice it up? Okay, here goes—It’s being reported that the the halftime performer for the 2015 Super Bowl XLIX has been announced…and apparently it’s Katy Perry.
Page Six reports that “a deal is being hammered out” for Katy to play the big show, which will be held February 1, 2015 in Glendale, Arizona. You may remember that both Coldplay and Rihanna were both in talks to play the big show this year too, but perhaps it’s Katy’s mass appeal—come on, who doesn’t like “Firework?”—that eventually nabbed her the gig. Katy has dozens of hits—her set is going to be amazing and so long!
Last year Bruno Mars played the halftime show, leading us to believe that the NFL is ditching classic rock artists and going for more mainstream Top 40 artists. Not that we have any complaints about that.
Stay tuned for more details and to see if and when Katy will be confirmed for the Super Bowl! Do you want Katy to play the big show? Tweet us @OKMagazine.
