I have a love/hate relationship with cleaning. I love the end result of a fresh, organized home and the feeling of satisfaction after being so productive. I hate the actual chore of housework. In an effort to jumpstart my spring cleaning project, I surround myself with effective cleaners and products with a boutique feel to make the job feel a little more festive. Blaring JT’s The 20/20 Experience while I scrub and sweep doesn’t hurt either. When you’re stuck in a cleaning rut, give one of these handy helpers a try.
• Get down and dirty with any mess using Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Radish All Purpose Cleaner, which can be used on all non-porous home surfaces. With ingredients that are at least 98% naturally-derived, the concentrated formula will help you clean up floors, counters and the like lickety split. And who knew radish is a scent?
• Is the pile of clothes on your bedroom floor starting to rival Mt. Everest? Caldrea Laundry Detergent in Rosewater Driftwood smells so lovely you’ll find yourself wanting to throw everything into the wash. The biodegradable HE formula isn’t just fragrant, it works hard to keep whites white and colors bright.
• I love Skoy Cloths, which are super-absorbent and biodegradable, for kitchen cleanups, although they can also be used in the bathroom and on a variety of other home surfaces. They’re washer/dryer friendly so after they’ve done their dirty work, it’s easy to get them clean and ready to use again.
• As a mom to two young kids, I really appreciate CleanWell’s line of disinfectants (including an all-purpose cleaner and bathroom cleaner) which kill germs botanically. I feel like I can safely clean without exposing them to the harsh chemicals found in other products on the market.
