She already made her “comeback” across the pond and now Lindsay Lohan is ready to start her official resurgence back home!
The 28-year-old is on the right track, having completed her community service and is nearly finished with her successful theatre run in London for Speed The Plow. Friends say she’s planning a big debut when she returns to the U.S. and this time, her comeback is “real.”
A friend of Lindsay’s told OKMagazine.com exclusively that LiLo is back on the movie trail, planning to finish her education and has a huge celebrity backing her: Ellen DeGeneres!
“She is so confident that this time she can turn things around,” the friend told OK! “She’s tired of being a big old joke and is determined to prove everyone wrong.”

Her pal added that her role in Speed The Plow “was a huge boost for her” and she feels “invincible,” which is helping motivate her.
“Everyone’s so proud of her and all her friends and family think that finally this time she’ll make all her dreams come true,” the friend said.
She’s not doing it alone, either. Ellen has a full “rescue plan” for the former Disney starlet, who appeared on her show in March.
An insider said Ellen has always wanted to take Lindsay under her wing and LiLo has “been on a high of excitement” since they traded ideas.
“Ellen spoke at length to Portia de Rossi about helping her out,” the insider revealed. “She was thrilled to hear from Lilo and the pair have already spoken several times about new projects.”

According to the source, Ellen thinks Lindsay is “a natural comedienne” and believes that since she’s certainly had her fair share of experience, she could end up as a talk show host like Ellen someday!

But first thing’s first for Lindsay in her personal comeback playbook: She plans to finish her education by getting her high school diploma!
A friend said Lohan, who left high school her junior year to be homeschooled, has sighed up to get her diploma online over the next two years.
“This is no joke. She wants that diploma and hates being called a drop-out.” her friend said. “She was very good at math and science at school and she wishes she’d finished.”

However, some of her buds are skeptical, calling it a “crazy idea” because they don’t think Lindsay has “the self-discipline to study from home.”
