Lindsay Lohan  is due to check into rehab—once again—on Thursday, and staying true to past form, the whole scenario is clouded by drama.

At the center of the issue is which facility the troubled 26-year-old will undergo treatment at during her court ordered 90 day stay, and her concerned father, Michael Lohan, tells exclusively that he's worried his daughter's best interests are not being considered when it comes to choosing the most suitable rehab center.

Lindsay Lohan, pictured at the Scary Movie 5 premiere, is due to check into rehab on Thursday for 90 days

"Lindsay does not want to go to the Seafield Center in New York as you can't smoke there, and she feels she is going to need to fall back on smoking while she works on getting sober," Michael tells OKMagazine.

"Lindsay wants to get treatment at The Lukens Institute in Palm Beach, Florida. And it's the perfect facility for her to go to. They provide six hours of intensive one-on-one therapy a day, in addition to group and family therapy, and they treat the trauma that is at the core of the addictive behavior rather than just treating the addiction.

"Look, there's no point in her going into yet another, regular rehab program like she has been in previously, she needs something different, and the Lukens Institute has one of the highest recovery rates in the country.

"The place is really luxurious and they are used to dealing with high end clients—Lindsay will have to detox at first from the drugs and alcohol, and she can do that there in her own private room, which is like a suite at the Ritz Carlton, and have a nurse on hand 24 hours a day to look after her.

"However, [people around Lindsay are] pushing for her to go into Morningside Recovery in Newport Beach, basically, because they want to get a referral fee for placing her there, which I've heard they are willing to pay, whereas Lukens won't do that.

Lindsay tweeted a pic of her packing for rehab, although it has yet to be decided where she will be treated

"It's easy to see whose best interests are at heart here, and, once again, they are not my daughter's."

Lindsay has already been to rehab a whopping FIVE times since 2007 — three times by court order.

In January 2007, Lindsay checked into Los Angeles' Wonderland Center for a 30 day stay. She released a statement at the time which read: “I have made a proactive decision to take care of my professional health. I appreciate your well wishes and ask that you please respect my privacy at this time.”

Lindsay was sentenced to 90 days rehab following her recent conviction for lying to cops

In June 2007, Lindsay entered Promises Treatment in Malibu for six weeks — her rep subsequently released a statement: “On Friday, July 13, 2007, Lindsay Lohan successfully completed her 45 days of residential and extended care treatment at Promises.”

In August 2007, the Mean Girls star checked into Cirque Lodge in Utah for another six week program. After she left the facility on October 5, 2010, her mom Dina told People Magazine: “I’m proud of her. She’s moving ahead with her life. Things were getting out of control. She took action. She took responsibility. She really needed to heal.”

On August 2 of 2010, Lohan was ordered to enter inpatient treatment at UCLA’s Resnick Neuro Psychiatric Hospital in Westwood, Los Angeles, for what was supposed to be a 90-day stay, at the time she told MTV: “It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs”  — she left treatment after just 23 days.

Michael Lohan is concerned people do not have his daughter's best interests at heart when it comes to chosing a rehab facility for her

In September 2010, Lohan’s probation was revoked once again following a failed drug test and she subsequently was ordered to yet again undergo inpatient treatment, this time at the Betty Ford Center, for three months — she left in early January 2011.

Despite his daughter's past treatment failure record, Michael shoots down reports that Lindsay is not taking this latest stint in rehab seriously, and is looking at it more than a vacation than treatment.

"Simply not true," Michael says. "She's committed to undergoing treatment, but it HAS to be the right kind. Lindsay wants to get her life back on track and manageable once again, but I'm concerned that's being hampered by some of the bad influences that are still around her."

UPDATE: E!Online is reporting Lindsay WILL be checking into Morningside for treatment on Thursday.
