OK! Next Big Deal: Erinn Westbrook, Glee's New Troublemaker
Erinn Westbrook has been popping up on Glee for a while now as new head cheerleader Bree—or the mini Santana, as Santana said herself a few episodes back. Accordingly, Bree is a mean girl character who got much meaner recently when she slept with Jake Puckerman while he's still dating Marley. Scandal! We chatted with the gorgeous newcomer to learn more about her (and get some Glee spoilers, of course).
OK!: Can you explain who your character is?
Erinn Westbrook: She is the queen of drama, at this point. She loves to stir things up. She is the newest mean girl—after a long line of mean girls, she's carrying that torch this season.
OK!: What is the plot she's involved with now?
EW: Jarley has been jeopardized! Fans were up in arms about that. People are definitely watching that storyline to see if there's potential with Bree and Jake. That story is going to continue to play out. And of course, the storyline involving Sue Silvester and Bree, in the sense that they're partnered up. Sue has recruited Bree to take down the glee club, so they have a lot of things up their sleeves.
OK! News: Read about the Glee spin-off that Ryan Murphy is planning!
OK!: Can you give us any spoilers for the coming weeks?
EW: Lima is a small town, so word gets out, and Jake will feel guilty. You'll have to see how that plays out, what happens with Bree and Jake, and Jake and Marley, and Bree and Marley. It's craziness, there's so much happening!
OK!: Is Bree going to get more sympathetic at all?
EW: I think that you will probably see a softer side to Bree at some point this season. She will be redeemed somewhat at different points. At the same time, as soon as she evokes sympathy from people, she's going to have something else to do to make people fall right back into hating her. It's a slingshot boomerang effect of "I hate her, I love her, I hate her, I feel bad for her." She's going to make sure people stay on an emotional roller coaster the rest of the season.
OK!: Is it fun to play such a nasty character?
EW: It's fun because it's just so different from who I am. And I think that it's great to be acting, and it is a challenge, but it's so fun to play the antagonist, and do crazy things. And wear the caution tape Lady Gaga outfit! To be behind the bigger, crazier moments of the season is really exciting.
OK!: How does she compare to your own experience in high school? You went to Harvard, so I imagine you were pretty focused on your studies.

EW: I was definitely focused on academics, while Bree is focused on running the school and the Cheerios. I was varsity cheerleading captain in high school, so I have that in common with Bree. That's exciting, to put a cheerleading uniform back on. That's as far as the similarities go.
OK! News: See why Adam Lambert is so excited to guest star on Glee!
OK!: What artist would you love to sing, moving forward, and what are you listening to?
EW: I'm just a fan of pop hits. I love singing pop songs, especially things on the radio now. Me, Jake, and Marley will be singing a Janet Jackson mash-up. Janet Jackson, in my opinion, is one of the queens of pop. Whatever they throw at me, I'm excited to sing. Right now, I'm listening to Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. A little bit of Miley Cyrus, I'm not going to lie. I like her style.
OK!: What's next for you? Is there anything else you're working on?
EW: Right now, I'm focusing on Glee. I envision getting into film in the near futue, and I write my own projects as well. You never know—you may see me as a writer/director/producer some day soon! I have a lot of goals, a lot of big dreams. I'm just really happy where I'm at.
