Philip Seymour Hoffman Officially Cast in 'Hunger Games' Sequel, 'Catching Fire'

OK! NEWS: HAS PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN SIGNED ON TO THE HUNGER GAMES SEQUEL CATCHING FIRE?
This is quickly shaping up to be an epic summer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire casting rumors, and E!Online.com is reporting that Philip Seymour Hoffman has officially signed on to play Plutarch Heavensbee, the new Head Gamemaker at the Capitol.
The sources further revealed the Capote star made it official right before the July 4th holiday and to expect an announcement by Lionsgate any day now.
Still anyone's guess? Who will play Finnick Odair. Armie Hammer, Taylor Kitsch and Garrett Hedlund have all been strong contenders for the role, but its also been speculated that the studio will hire an unknown.

Meanwhile, Sucker Punch star Jena Malone might be the frontrunner for Johanna Mason, if the studio passes on Greek model Zoe Aggeliki. Meanwhile, Lil' Romeo told MTV News he was in "talks" for a starring role in the second movie of the trilogy.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is set to start filming in the fall with a new director, Francis Lawrence, and will hit theaters a year later in November of 2013.
