Alex Rodriguez Ditches His 'Dad-Bod' After Split From Ex-Fiancée Jennifer Lopez — See The Athlete's Full-Body Transformation
As Alex Rodriguez is in the midst of trying to woo back ex-fiancée Jennifer Lopez, the former New York Yankees player has hit a weight-loss milestone and left his self-proclaimed “dad-bod” behind.
The former athlete showed off his buff figure in before-and-after shots posted to his Instagram on Wednesday, April 28 (over a week after he and Lopez confirmed they ended their engagement). “Anyone else determined to stick with their fitness goals this year?” the 45-year-old captioned the snaps, before giving a tip on how he managed to shed the weight. “I’ve been consistent with my workouts and finally put down the chips.”
Fans and friends flooded his comments with praise on his newly fit figure. “Happy I was a part of this journey!" his personal chef Kelvin commented. “You did the hard part, I fed the soul!" A fan jokingly said, “That’s the ‘I’m single again’ drive LOL ❤️,” referring to his split from the Maid in Manhattan actress.
Is Rodriguez’s body transformation an attempt to capture his ex's attention? OK! recently reported that the former baseball player is not “ready to completely give up” on his relationship with Lopez and is “holding out hope” on a reconciliation after spies spotted the former flames having dinner on Friday, April 23.

Rodriguez and Lopez had dinner at the Hotel Bel-Air — the same luxury hotel where the former flames had their first date back in 2017 — with many assuming Rodriguez picked the nostalgic location as an attempt to stir up happy memories between the two.
As OK! previously reported, Lopez ultimately pulled the plug on her four-year romance with the athlete — following a series of COVID-19 related wedding delays, cheating rumors and breakup reports — because she could no longer fully “trust” Rodriguez, a source dished, adding that there were “too many issues that are unresolved” between the couple.
Lopez and Rodriguez have a lot to figure out when it comes to untangling their intertwined lives, from their joint business venture to their shared properties around the country. However, the two are hell bent on remaining friends and business partners. “We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects,” the couple declared during the breakup announcement on Thursday, April 15. “We wish the best for each other.”
