Earle Opens Up About Her Mental Health

Alix Earle responded to the unexpected moment with humor rather than letting it ruin her morning.
The lighthearted moment comes weeks after Earle got candid about a much more serious topic: her mental health.
Although the internet personality has built a following by being open about her life, she recently admitted that she had been struggling behind the scenes.
The 25-year-old addressed how she had been feeling in a TikTok video posted on Sunday, July 26.
“I know I haven’t posted anything on here in the past few days,” she began.
“Honestly, I just sort of took some time for myself and tried to not be online as much because I was getting into not the best place,” she said.
Earle also revealed that things became overwhelming enough for her to break down while getting ready.
She recalled that she “just broke down in tears” while doing her makeup the previous week.
“I was on the plane and I had a panic attack,” she added.

Social Media Took a Toll

Alix Earle recently opened up about taking time away from social media because she was struggling emotionally.
Earle explained that she had been having a difficult time but still viewed connecting with her followers as something positive.
“I’ve just been struggling a bit. It’s my happy place to come on here and talk and share things,” Earle said.
She revealed that she had “actually recorded a video like this a few times” before finally deciding to open up.
“But the other times I was recording it, I was crying and I was like, let me just collect myself a little more,” she added, noting that she was slowly beginning to feel better.
The “Hot Mess” host also pointed to the constant criticism she receives online as one factor that had affected her mental health.
Earle said she had “always been fine with reading” what critics had to say, acknowledging that “that’s what you subject yourself to when you post yourself online.”
Still, she admitted that the negativity had recently started to feel different.
“But recently, I don’t know. It's felt more negative,” she stated.
The constant commentary about her appearance, choices and relationships also began weighing on her.
“Obviously it’s gonna get to you or make you overthink when you’re constantly reading about what you’re doing, the way you look, who you’re hanging out with, what you’re saying,” she continued.
Earle Wants to Share Her Life on Her Own Terms

She explained that “every time” she shared something online, haters seemed ready to pick it apart.
“It just turns into something bigger,” she said, before adding, “I’m just trying to share my human experiences.”
