Chuck Lorre wrote about hiring Anna Faris in his new memoir.

Faris' comments came after Lorre wrote about his initial hesitancy in selecting her as the leading "mom" for the hit CBS show.

"I wasn’t sure Anna would be appropriate for this kind of material," he confessed. "Then I thought about how badly I’d bungled my working relationship with Charlie Sheen."

Sheen and Lorre worked together on Two and a Half Men before Sheen was fired following struggles with addiction, public meltdowns and a production halt.

"Someone’s personal life is none of my business. The mom in Mom would be, and should be, Anna Faris," Lorre conceded.

Anna Farris called her time on the show 'rewarding.'

"As the years went by, it became apparent that my initial reluctance to hire Anna was, in fact, correct," he continued. "After six years, she left the show for mysterious reasons that were not mysterious to anyone on the show."

When Farris left, the writers wrote her character off, though she called her time as Christy Plunkett "rewarding" when announcing her departure.

"The past seven years on Mom have been some of the most fulfilling and rewarding of my career. I'm so thankful to Chuck, the writers, and my amazing castmates for creating a truly wonderful work experience," she gushed in 2020.
