'My Heart Aches': Safiyya Vorajee & Ashley Cain Post Heartbreaking Tributes To 8-Month-Old Daughter Following Her Tragic Death
A mother’s grief. Safiyya Vorajee wrote a heartbreaking tribute to her 8-month-old daughter, Azaylia, following her tragic death on Saturday, April 24, following a months-long battle with cancer.
“Everyday is getting harder but Azaylia taught me strength, and courage which she held 100%, now I need to make her proud and do the same,” the grieving mother, who shared baby Azaylia with The Challenge star Ashley Cain, posted via her Instagram Story on Monday, April 26. “A special Thank you to beautiful Azaylia for teaching all of us the true meaning of life.”
Vorajee continued: “I’m honoured to be your mummy. Enjoy paradise baby & enjoy your new angels wings.” Cain posted his own tribute to honor his daughter, writing on Monday, “My heart is shattered.”
“You gave my life purpose, my face a smile, filled my heart with love and my soul with pride. I can’t put into words my sadness and pain, there aren’t words to describe it. I love you with every ounce of my body and I miss you so much already,” he wrote. “You made me a better man. You made me the person I’ve always wanted to be. You’ve taught me more in your 8 months than I’ve learned my whole life.”

Cain added: “I don’t know why you’ve been taken away from me and my heart aches in your absence. But I promise you that your name will live on. I will carry your name across every ocean, along every road, to the top of every mountain and across the whole globe. Your name will live, your legacy will be remembered and I will seek peace in living as your vessel to continue inspiring, giving strength, spreading joy and saving lives in your name, with your spirit, as your father until we meet again.”
As OK! previously reported, former soccer player and reality star Cain announced that his daughter had sadly passed away on Saturday, April 24, after a battle with leukemia. “Rest In Paradise Princess 👼🏼🌈,” he captioned a sweet photo on Instagram of him holding his little girl. “I will always hold you in my heart until I can hold you again in heaven ❤️😢 #AzayliaDiamondCain.”
Cain announced in a 10-minute clip on Instagram Thursday, April 8, that his daughter’s health was declining and she had only “days to live.” Doctors had recently discovered two tumors were on baby Azaylia’s brain that were causing “too much pressure” in her head, and she was no longer able to continue with treatment.
As a result, Cain and Vorajee decided to take their daughter home from in-patient care to let her live out the rest of her days with them in the comfort of their own home.
