Bindi Irwin Pays Tribute To Late Dad Steve Irwin & Her Young Family With 'Graceful Warrior' Tattoo
Bindi Irwin is starting the year off with some new ink!
The young mama took to Instagram on Friday, January 7, to reveal she got her first-ever tattoos that are tributes to her family. In the photo, Bindi has her arm out as her daughter, Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, appears to be running her tiny hand over her mama's.
The words "graceful warrior," written in her late dad Steve Irwin's handwriting, was tattooed on her inner forearm to honor her nine-month-old daughter, in addition to an alligator placed next to the touching text. The reptile is a reference to Daisy the alligator who lives at Australia Zoo.
"The words I spoke to our daughter as I held her for the first time in my arms were, 'My graceful warrior'. That’s how her name was born," Bindi shared with her 4.8 million Instagram followers. "This is my dad's handwriting to keep him with me, always."
Steve, nicknamed "The Crocodile Hunter," died in September 2006 at age 44 after he was struck in the chest by a stingray barb while filming a documentary in Batt Reef, Queensland. The late TV personality was an Australian zookeeper and wildlife expert, who passed on his knowledge and way of life to his daughter.
As for Bindi's alligator tattoo, she explained: "Our dear alligator, Daisy, is next to these words to represent our conservation work as Wildlife Warriors."
The mother-of-one also paid tribute to her hubby, Chandler Powell, by getting a floral design on her ring finger, where she wears her wedding band. As OK! reported, she and Chandler tied the knot in 2020.

The zookeeper's husband was quick to praise his wife on her sweet tributes to her family, with Chandler writing: "Such gorgeous artwork❤️ You amaze me every day. Each one is meaningful to mark this special time in our life together. Also, the Florida in me loves the alligator. 🐊 Love you so much."
